Empowering veterans to rebuild their lives with dignity.
The Veterans Support Program provides comprehensive assistance to homeless veterans, including housing support, job training, and mental health services. Committed to restoring hope and independence to those who have served our country, this program aims to make a significant difference in the lives of these former defenders of freedom.
FFHV's Veteran Support Package addresses the root causes of homelessness among veterans through a flexible, five-step process that meets their unique needs. This holistic approach includes mental health treatment, addiction and abuse therapy, employment assistance, and housing and shelter assistance, all coordinated for seamless support.
The first step involves a thorough assessment of the veteran’s mental health, substance abuse issues, employment status, and housing needs. This evaluation helps create a personalized plan outlining necessary support services and the order of their provision.
To address mental health issues contributing to homelessness, the program offers access to counseling and therapy sessions with licensed mental health professionals, support groups, and peer counseling. Continuous monitoring and adjustments ensure the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
This step helps veterans overcome addiction and abuse issues that may impede stable housing. It includes access to rehabilitation programs, individual and group therapy sessions to address root causes, and a relapse prevention plan for long-term recovery and stability.
Supporting veterans in securing stable employment involves job training programs, workshops to enhance employability skills, assistance with resume writing and interview preparation, and connections with potential employers and job placement services.
Ensuring veterans have access to safe and stable housing, this step provides temporary shelter options while arranging permanent housing solutions. It also includes assistance in securing long-term housing through FFHV’s innovative ADU program or other initiatives, along with ongoing support for maintaining housing, including financial planning and budgeting assistance.
A dedicated case manager oversees the implementation of each veteran’s customized plan, ensuring continuous support throughout their journey. Regular check-ins and progress reviews allow for necessary adjustments, and communication between all service providers ensures a cohesive and integrated approach.
By following this individualized five-step process, FFHV aims to address both the immediate and long-term needs of homeless veterans, empowering them to transition to independent living and long-term stability.
