About Us

Foundation for Homeless Veterans (FFHV)

At the Foundation for Homeless Veterans (FFHV), our mission is to ensure that no veteran is left behind. We are dedicated to providing every homeless veteran with the support and resources they need to transition from the streets to stable, independent living. Our journey is driven by the personal experiences of our founder, Patrick Kelley, whose service and subsequent battles with trauma inspired him to create this foundation.

Our Story

Patrick Kelley, a US Army veteran and 100% disabled, has faced the immense challenges that come with serving one's country. After his military service, Patrick struggled with the trauma and psychological scars of his experiences. This battle with trauma, a common but often overlooked consequence of military service, ignited his passion to help others. Recognizing the urgent need for comprehensive support systems for veterans, Patrick founded the Foundation for Homeless Veterans.

His vision was to create an organization that addresses not only the physical needs of homeless veterans but also their emotional and mental well-being. Patrick’s personal journey and resilience fuel his unwavering commitment to the cause, inspiring everyone at FFHV to work tirelessly toward our mission.

Our Services

We offer a range of comprehensive services designed to address the unique needs of homeless veterans:

  • Affordable Housing: Our housing programs provide veterans with access to safe, stable, and affordable housing options. This includes rental subsidies, shared housing arrangements, and emergency shelters.
  • Employment Assistance: We offer employment assistance programs that help veterans find work and secure a stable income. These programs include job training, resume writing workshops, and job placement services.
  • Mental Health Support: Understanding the critical importance of mental health, we provide counseling, therapy, and support groups for veterans dealing with PTSD, depression, and substance abuse.
  • Outreach and Education: We raise awareness about veteran homelessness and provide valuable information about available resources through our outreach and education initiatives.
  • Advocacy: We advocate on behalf of homeless veterans, working with government agencies, community organizations, and private businesses to address the root causes of homelessness and provide the necessary support.
